Database Architect (43998)

We are looking for an experienced Database Architect to modernize a mainframe data platform in an international financial environment. You will shape the target data architecture, migration from legacy databases to PostgreSQL and Azure, and data modelling while maintaining a hybrid operating model. We require at least five years of experience in data architecture and migrations, knowledge of DB2, VSAM and IMS, and English at C1 level.

🚀 Project
- design the target data architecture and data models for the post-mainframe environment
- define data-quality, governance and data-lineage mapping strategies
- lead data migration from legacy systems to PostgreSQL and Microsoft Azure services
- design the conversion of DB2 and VSAM data into relational databases and the transformation of IMS structures
- design database schemas and indexes and optimise performance in the target environment
- work with mainframe specialists, data engineers and architects on the phased move to the cloud

🎯 Skills
- at least 10 years of IT experience, including 5 years in data architecture or database migrations
- experience designing target data architectures and data models
- hands-on experience migrating data from mainframe environments
- knowledge of DB2 and conversion of data into relational databases
- understanding of VSAM file structures and the IMS hierarchical model
- PostgreSQL expertise in schema design, indexing and performance optimisation
- experience with Microsoft Azure and data-lineage documentation
- English at C1 level

- experience in banking or another regulated environment
