Junior Operations Engineer (44154)

For a team keeping an integration platform running during a large-scale API migration in the telecommunications sector, we are looking for a Junior Operations Engineer. The role covers first-line monitoring of integrations in Quickwork, incident handling and escalation, and partner communication as APIs move to production group by group. First experience in IT support or operations, an understanding of REST API and JSON, English at B2 level and working German are required.

🚀 Project
- first-line operational support of the Quickwork integration platform during the API migration
- monitoring integration journeys, reading execution logs and identifying the failed step
- checking whether a request passed the API gateway or failed in a downstream system
- logging, triaging and escalating incidents according to runbooks
- communicating with partners during outages using the agreed template and within SLA
- after the migration, independent day-to-day operation and maintenance of all 37 migrated APIs
- first-year training with support from the Technical Lead and Quickwork SME

🎯 Skills
- 1+ year in IT support, operations or helpdesk, or equivalent practical experience from studies or an internship
- conceptual understanding of REST APIs (HTTP requests, 200 vs. 500 status codes, endpoints)
- basic JSON skills – reading a payload, spotting missing or malformed values
- comfortable working in browser-based platforms – dashboards, logs
- ability to follow a runbook step by step and recognise when to escalate
- clear, factual incident updates written in English
- reliability in an on-call operational context and willingness to learn new tools
- English B2
- German sufficient for reading internal notifications and communicating with stakeholders

💡 Nice to have
- experience with an iPaaS / integration platform (MuleSoft, Workato, Azure Logic Apps, Zapier, Quickwork)
- API testing tools (Postman, curl) – even self-taught
- basics of OAuth2 / JWT tokens
- monitoring or alerting tools (Grafana, Datadog, PagerDuty or similar)
- GitLab / GitHub at a read-only level (pipeline results, commits)
