Automation Tester (42780)

I'm seeking a skilled Automation Tester to join fast-paced Agile teams. You will create automated test cases, maintain and improve scripts, and execute manual and exploratory testing. Validate backend data using SQL and document defects with Azure DevOps, Jira, or TestRail. Collaborate on sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives while maintaining Git-based test scripts. Ideal candidates are hands-on with automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, comfortable with coding (Java, Python, JS), and able to adapt to client-specific tools independently. 

🚀 Project
- designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test cases using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or in-house tools
- updating and improving automated test scripts to reflect application changes and new features
- creating and executing manual test cases and exploratory tests based on functional specifications and user stories
- validating backend data using SQL, ensuring consistency, integrity, and correct application behavior
- identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or TestRail
- communicating test results clearly to developers, business analysts, and stakeholders
- collaborating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies: planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- maintaining test scripts in Git, including branching, commits, and code reviews
- adapting quickly to client-specific tools and processes, delivering independent results from day one

🎯 Skills
- strong understanding of software testing fundamentals (test case design, scenarios, defect lifecycle)
- hands-on experience with automated test case (TC) creation in at least one automation framework (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, especially custom or in-house automation solutions.
- fast learner with a proactive, self-driven attitude and ability to ramp up quickly with minimal supervision
- basic programming/scripting skills (Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar)
- basic database knowledge and ability to validate data in databases (e.g., SQL queries, data checks, simple joins)
- experience with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative workflows
- experience working in an external/contractor role, delivering independently and efficiently
- strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, especially for identifying edge cases
- good English communication skills for documenting test cases and reporting defects

💡 Nice to have
- experience with database testing and SQL, including validating backend data against application behavior
- familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, etc.)
- background in the financial domain (banking, payments, insurance)
- experience working with custom-built or low-code/no-code automation tools
- understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and participation in sprint ceremonies
- knowledge of API testing or basic backend validation (e.g., REST, Postman)
- experience with test data management or data-driven testing approaches
