I am looking for a Database Developer who will plan, design, and implement the migration from DB2 to PostgreSQL and establish a stable, high-performance environment on Windows. You will analyze existing database structures, develop migration scripts, and ensure data integrity and performance throughout the process. Your expertise in PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, and DB2 migrations will be applied to optimize data models and architecture. 🚀 Project
- plan, design, and implement migration from DB2 to Postgres
- replace host system and establish stable, high-performance Postgres environment on Windows
- analyze existing database structures, data models, and interfaces
- develop migration strategies and scripts for data transfer and transformation
- ensure data integrity, performance, and security during and after migration
- support design and architecture of new database solutions
- develop monitoring and backup concepts
- create technical documentation
- conduct training and knowledge transfer for internal employees
- collaborate closely with software developers, system administrators, and architects

🎯 Skills
- expert PostgreSQL knowledge (SQL, indexing, performance tuning, PL/pgSQL)
- hands-on DB2 → PostgreSQL migration experience
- strong database architecture and data modeling skills
- advanced data migration and transformation (ETL, scripting)
- experience running PostgreSQL on Windows (incl. PowerShell)
- performance analysis, optimization and troubleshooting (EXPLAIN)
- fluent German
