Head of Engineering (43077)

I am looking for a Head of Engineering to take full ownership of the engineering organisation, combining leadership, architecture and delivery accountability. You will lead multiple teams through Team Leads, shape the engineering strategy and ensure scalable, high-quality delivery across the platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, leadership and business impact.

🚀 Project
- own the software development function end-to-end including organisational design, headcount planning, hiring, budget and performance
- lead and develop Team Leads, building a strong leadership layer to enable organisational scalability
- own architecture decisions across systems, services, integrations and platforms, including system design, data architecture and API/integration patterns
- define and maintain architecture principles, standards and reference designs
- lead architecture reviews and drive complex solutioning where needed
- drive build-vs-buy decisions and technical debt strategy, balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform health
- own engineering delivery outcomes across teams, including predictability, quality, throughput and time-to-market
- partner with Product on roadmap planning and prioritisation
- own the engineering operating model, including sprint lifecycle, release management and quality control
- evolve delivery metrics and improve engineering efficiency through processes, workflows and governance
- lead AI transformation within engineering, including adoption of AI-assisted development practices
- act as a senior stakeholder and partner to Product, Operations and Commercial leadership
- communicate engineering progress, risks and investment needs to executive leadership

🎯 Skills
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading engineering organisations across multiple teams
- proven experience managing managers and developing Team Leads
- strong track record in owning platform-level architecture decisions including system design, data architecture and integrations
- experience scaling engineering organisations, including hiring and organisational design
- experience integrating AI-assisted development into engineering practices
- strong communication skills in Czech and English with ability to explain complex topics to diverse stakeholders
- strong commercial and strategic mindset with ability to engage with executive leadership
- strong stakeholder management and cross-functional alignment skills
- structured, pragmatic and ownership-driven approach
