Cybersecurity SW Engineer (40820)

Do you have experience in developing security software and are you familiar with cybersecurity for critical systems? I’m looking for a Cybersecurity Software Engineer to develop security components in compliance with international standards. You’ll work with technologies such as Java, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, and leverage your knowledge of secure coding, threat modeling, and vulnerability testing.

🚀 Project
- design, develop, and implement secure software components for QKD payloads and ground segment receivers
- implement automated security testing frameworks and perform regular vulnerability assessments
- collaborate with ESA cybersecurity experts and UK sovereign use case teams
- ensure software compliance with international cybersecurity standards for space-based systems
- support integration with EuroQCI and related European quantum infrastructure programs
- contribute to continuous improvement of software assurance, security testing, and resilience measures

🎯 Skills
- EU citizenship
- proven experience in cybersecurity software development
- strong understanding of secure coding practices, threat modeling, and vulnerability management
- strong experience with at least one major programming language (preferably Java); familiarity with C++ and Python is an advantage
- hands-on experience with automated testing, performance and security testing, and CI/CD pipelines
- knowledge of virtualization and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- experience working in Agile (SCRUM) environments
- excellent English communication and collaboration skills across international teams

💡 Nice to have
- experience with ESA cybersecurity standards or space system security
- knowledge of quantum key distribution (QKD) or quantum networking concepts
- background in secure communications for defense, aerospace, or critical infrastructure projects
- experience with DevSecOps, penetration testing, or ISO/IEC 27001 compliance
