Java Developer (43294)

Join an innovative proof-of-concept initiative focused on AI-driven, specification-based software development and help modernize a mature enterprise application using Java, Spring Boot, React, and AI-assisted engineering. As an Java Developer, You will contribute to Spec-Driven Development, review AI-generated code, refine technical specifications, and help establish reusable standards for future modernization projects. We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong Java and React expertise, knowledge of OpenShift, AI-assisted development tools, and professional German language skills.

🚀 Project
- contribution to the design and evolution of a Spec-Driven Development methodology
- creation, refinement, and review of technical specifications using specification-first approaches (e.g. OpenSpec, SpecKit)
- technical review of AI-generated Java Spring Boot and React code
- ensuring high code quality, maintainability, and adherence to engineering best practices
- review and validation of automated tests for completeness, relevance, and quality
- support for the AI-driven modernization and refactoring of a legacy enterprise application into a modern Java-based architecture
- collaboration with domain experts and legacy system developers to ensure accurate implementation
- establishment of reusable standards, processes, and governance for future AI-supported software modernization projects
- continuous evaluation and improvement of AI-assisted development workflows
- participation in the development of a reusable AI Software Factory methodology for future legacy modernization initiatives
- validation of an end-to-end software delivery process based on AI-assisted, specification-driven development
- close collaboration with experienced software engineers and subject matter experts throughout the transformation

🎯 Skills
- strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
- solid experience with React
- experience reviewing software architecture, technical specifications, and source code
- knowledge of OpenShift or similar container platforms
- experience with AI-assisted software development, agent-based coding, or modern AI developer tools
- familiarity with Spec-Driven Development, specification-first engineering, or similar methodologies
- strong understanding of software quality, testing strategies, and code review best practices
- excellent analytical and communication skills
- German at C1 level
